Butterfly Garden

Migrating Monarch Butterflies feast on the tasty Buddleia bushes in the Butterfly Garden.

The Butterfly Garden is on the migratory path of the Monarch butterfly, as is the entire state of New York. The tiny, lilac-colored flowers of Buddleia shrubs, also known as Butterfly Bushes, are irresistable to the Monarchs as a source of sweet, nourishing nectar, and as a perfect location for laying the eggs which will hatch into larvae, and eventually become new Monarch butterflies! The Butterfly Garden bustles with winged, nectar-feeding creatures of all kinds throughout the summer.
