Rock Wall
The inviting bench you see nestled in a hillside of beautiful flowers and shrubs is the keystone of a 50-foot Rock Wall built from tons of Basalt rock boulders quarried in Pennsylvania.
The volunteers of the Narrows Botanical Garden placed each rock in the wall by hand, using a traditional masonry technique to puzzle them together without the use of mortar. Small flowering plants and succulent Sedums fill the cracks and crevices in the rock wall, making a dramatic backdrop to your stroll.
