A Celebration of Water Gardens
Kristin Reiber Harris
Sept, 2025 - Sept, 2026
A Celebration of Water Gardens is an outdoor exhibit by Narrows Botanical Gardens Artist in Residence and Bay Ridge artist Kristin Reiber Harris. The series features colorful collages of real and imagined water gardens, created using hand-colored and textured papers through a monoprinting process. Installed along the Great Lawn and near the water garden on Shore Road, the works draw inspiration from NBG’s landscapes and highlight the beauty and interconnectedness of flora and fauna within water-based garden spaces.
“My passion is to create artwork that illuminates the intelligence and beauty of the natural world. This beauty and intelligence are clearly present at NBG through its many themed gardens, including several water gardens. I am especially drawn to water gardens because they bring together both flora and fauna.”
Harris adds, “I am so pleased to share this work with the community at Narrows Botanical Gardens (NBG). As a longtime volunteer, I deeply value what the gardens offer—not only as a green space within a major metropolitan city, but as a place for creativity and learning. NBG thrives because of volunteer labor; volunteers are not only welcomed, they are essential to the gardens’ success and continued existence.”
In addition to her art exhibits, Kristin hosts free drawing workshops at the gardens.
