The first garden designed at NBG was the Modern Rose garden. Today, it stands as a tribute to Joan Regan, co-founder and founding president (in memoriam), whose vision helped shape the early identity of the gardens. Featuring contemporary rose varieties selected for their vibrant color, resilience, and extended bloom season, this garden reflects both thoughtful design and enduring care. It remains a cherished part of the landscape and a living reminder of Joan’s belief in beauty, community, and stewardship.
