Volunteers Plant Spring Bulbs Along Shore Road
Narrows Botanical Gardens volunteers cleared the tree pits along Shore Road and planted hundreds of bulbs that will bring early color and pollinator-friendly blooms to the streetscape next spring.
The tree pit restoration and bulb planting along Shore Road were made possible through support from the Con Edison Climate Resilience Grant, which is helping advance NBG’s Cultivating Urban Resilience Through Tree Pit Restorationinitiative. Beginning in spring 2026, the project will restore and plant neighborhood tree pits to strengthen urban biodiversity, improve soil health, and support pollinators while creating greener, more resilient streetscapes for the community.
